The phrase "Metals for Medals" literally came about while I was working on a hobby of mine (forging silver) and I thought "how can I give back in my own personal way?". The first 'Metal' refers to literal metal, specifically, precious metals silver, gold, and etc. A portion of the products I make, and eventually sell, will go towards this charity. Our larger/longer term goal entails my team and I reaching out to larger bullion/coin dealers, locally and on the internet and asking if they'd like to become partners and contribute a portion to the cause, either on a one time basis or a recurring donation.
The second 'Medal' refers to the honorary military medals, issued for heroic deeds while in service of our country. Initially, we were referring to the Purple Heart, but later expanded it to mean anyone who has ever served or is still serving whether military or civilian.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site! I hope, after reading our story, that you'll consider sharing the site or even making a donation.
God Bless,
Benjamin Langford, Founder, Metals for Medals
A little bit about me. I am a US Army veteran, with a deployment to Kirkuk, Iraq Aug 2007- Nov 2008. Finished my active duty military obligation and then began my collegiate education initially at Cleveland State University, then transferring to the University of Toledo where I graduated in 2014 with a bachelor's in science. I then went on to physician assistant school, which is a masters level program, and subsequently graduated in 2016. While in PA school I married my wife, Ashley, in the summer of 2016. I then went on to work as a certified physician assistant at the Cleveland Clinic in various emergency departments in northern Ohio. I have two daughters a 3 and 2 year old. I have always had a passion for helping others and I would love to have the opportunity to make a notable difference in the lives of veterans, active military, and even emergency medical service members (fire, police, medics, etc.).
