The "Metals for Medals" squad currently consists of myself, my wife, kids and close friends. We are all committed to helping wounded veterans, other veterans and even actively serving military members.
The idea of "Metals for Medals" came about one night in June, 2022, while I was working on a hobby of mine (which happened to be silver refining and forging). I am an Army veteran of 9 years with a tour to Iraq. I currently work as a physician assistant in Lorain and Cuyahoga counties in various emergency departments and oftentimes see veterans who would benefit from additional assistance. I can see the struggle some of the veterans suffer on a daily basis: from access to care, drug addiction, depression, PTSD, and homelessness. Here at Metals for Medals, we want to be able to say we did our part in helping those in need.
The mission of "Metals for Medals" is simple. Reach out to businesses, specifically those in the bullion/coin sales business, as well as my own handmade metalwork sales, to make either a one-time or recurring donation to our charity "Metals for Medals" and these funds would then would go towards support for our current and former military heroes either through directing the funds towards known organizations, local VA hospitals, social events or other community services. We believe that caring for our veterans is of utmost importance and the least we can do.
